This annual event is now in its 42nd year and attracts over 10,000 people. It is a great family day in beautiful surroundings, and with new competitions and attractions added to the already full schedule, there is plenty to do for young and old.

The sheep shearing will be going on all day, as well as stick making, threshing, spinning, bird of prey displays and dog agility. The Young Farmers will be entertaining the crowds with their It’s A Knockout competition and the various pony and horse jumping classes provide a thrilling spectacle.

Throughout the field will be trade stands, exhibition stalls, craft and food stalls as well as the ever popular home industries tent. Animals will abound, with classes for cattle, sheep, poultry, horses, donkeys and goats, as well as a new category for pigs. This year Castlewellan is proud to host the final of the Ulster Bank NI Blonde Cattle Club Cattle Championship as well as qualifying rounds for a range of national championships.

Adm £10 adults.  Children under 16 are free.  Young Farmers £5 with membership card.  Free onsite parking.
